considerations it was vital to have a partner like Philips Lighting working alongside us in delivering an innovative and sustainable solution for the hospital,”
- Greg Hodby, Chief Executive Officer, Nilsen
Being a health facility that offers a broad range of services, the new RAH had specific requirements across individual clinical offerings and wards, each with its own challenges.
In addition, the Philips team had to consider the fact that any lighting design should assist in the achievement of a Green Star rating.
Philips worked closely with Nilsen partner to execute the design, delivering an advanced lighting system to support the environmentally conscious and patient-centric facility. Philips Lighting delivered a connected lighting Philips Dynalite management solution to control 50,000 DALI light fittings & an additional 10,000 emergency fittings spanning 170,000m2. A single, intuitive software controls all lighting functions while also providing graphical feedback on failures. The EnvisionManager offered flexible control and monitoring capabilities for the Philips Dynalite system. “Only by working with a partner such as Philips were we able to ensure we met all the requirements of the hospital in day-to-day operation and the additional needs of a tier 1 disaster recovery facility”, said Greg Hodby, Chief Executive Officer, Nilsen.
The designs inherent flexibility allows for the changing demands on the hospital and has helped in delivering a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions.
